Leadership is both a trait that can be acquired genetically and one that requires dedicated experience and development to improve. Though it has always been one of my natural strengths, I have developed my leadership and team management skills through a variety of personal and professional experiences.

Team Name: San Diego Angel Conference VI Staff
Role: Staff Coordinator

Year: 2024
Responsibilities:

​​

  • Organized 9 in-person & 3 virtual events covering investor education, pitches, due diligence, & voting

  • Led marketing effort for SDAC; created marketing plan & content schedule & coordinated mixed-mode content creation & posting with an independent marketing firm

  • Managed relationships with & cultivated experience for entrepreneurs, sponsors, & angel investors

  • Recruited, trained, and supervised 25-person volunteer staff for Finale event​

  • Stepped into secondary emcee role & conducted live audience interviews at Finale event

Team Name: USD Free Enterprise Institute Marketing & Administrative Team
Role: Team Manager

Year: 2023-24

Responsibilities:

​​

  • Recruited, trained, and supervised four-person Administrative & Marketing team

  • Led position recruiting, interviewed and hired candidates, created standardized training, assigned team tasks to support department activities, & reported regularly to FEI Director

  • Managed task distribution and team coordination through Asana project management software and regular team and individual meetings

  • First Marketing & Admin team created at Free Enterprise Institute; unprecedented level of efficiency and productivity on suite of tasks including marketing, content creation, event management, and logistics

Team Name: Spark @USD Work-Study Program
Role: Team Manager

Year: 2022-23
Responsibilities:

Results & Additional Information:

​​

  • First time a team had been created for this purpose at Spark @USD (because the institute was new); productivity and output of my position increased significantly with delegation of work to team

  • Students' professional skills and knowledge was developed over course of 9 month work period

  • Social media content received more engagement than 80% of the Kroc School's other posts

Team Name: USD Women's Basketball Support Staff
Role: Graduate Assistant Manager

Year: 2021-22
Responsibilities:

  • As a graduate assistant I was responsible for supervising the University of San Diego women's basketball team's 4 student managers and 6 practice players

  • Ensured that managers completed necessary set up & tear down tasks, logistics on the road, and any additional tasks

  • Oversaw practice players in practice and organized them to provide the necessary level of competition for the team

Team Name: USD Women's Club Basketball Team
Role: Head Coach

Year: 2021-22
Responsibilities:

​​​

  • Selected and hired to coach competitive women’s club basketball team at the University of San Diego

  • Held tryouts, made cuts, organized team, and collaborated with team leaders to set rotations

  • Responsible for developing practice plans, coaching practices, game planning, and coaching games

​​

  • Posted 5-1 record in first season as a club, established program for future coaches & players to continue

Team Name: Rhodes College Women's Basketball Staff
Role: Student Assistant Coach

Year: 2018-20
Responsibilities:

​​

  • As a student assistant coach I worked closely with the coaching staff to scout other teams, play in practice, conduct individual player workouts, and make coaching decisions

  • Responsible for scouting reports, player management on the road, and assisting with travel logistics

  • Tracked game trends (ie. shot selection, scouting report accuracy, and defensive efficiency) in games

Year: 2017-21
Responsibilities:

  • 2020-21 team captain

  • Organized team meetings, served as extension of coaching staff in practice and games, regular met with coaches to evaluate film and individual/team performance

  • Responsible for managing team focus and morale

Team Name: Hoop City BC Boy's 15U Silver Team
Role: Head Coach

Year: 2019
Responsibilities:

​​

  • Interviewed and hired to coach 15U Silver basketball team from Hoop City Basketball Club, competing in Adidas Gauntlet circuit (formerly M33M)

  • Held tryouts, made cuts, organized team, drove players to and from tournaments, and set rotations

  • Responsible for developing practice plans, coaching practices, game planning, and coaching games

  • Developed players over course of season to prepare them for their high school seasons and future in basketball

Team Name: Civil Air Patrol (U.S. Air Force Auxiliary) Boulder Composite Squadron
Role: Non-Commissioned Officer

Year: 2011-13
Responsibilities:

​​​

  • Learned Air Force drill, procedures, history, and hierarchy

  • Responsible for maintaining required physical fitness level

  • Took regular aerospace and leadership courses and tested to progress through ranks 

  • Learned search & rescue, flying small planes, and tactical survival skills

  • Participated in and led teamwork exercises

Team Name: Wolchek Academy of Martial Arts

Role: Assistant Instructor

Year: 2004-13
Responsibilities:

​​​

  • As an assistant instructor, I was responsible for teaching martial arts classes for various age and skill groups

  • Learned and taught a unique curriculum that incorporated multiple styles of martial arts (Karate, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, and Eskrima), along with yoga, basic tumbling and physical conditioning and character development, discipline, respect, bully skills, sportsmanship and leadership skills

​

  • Progressed to the level of second degree Black Belt

  • Successfully completed a graded course to become an Assistant Instructor

Role: Chief Executive & Director of Regional Operations (CO)

Year: 2008-13
Responsibilities:

  • Founded and led the Matrix Fundraising and Donation Alliance, a volunteer charitable organization

  • Responsible for recruitment, hiring, monthly email updates, monthly events, employee motivation, and website building
